Anne Haddad is a writer who explores the Lebanese-American experience of fear, shame and unbreakable bonds that shaped the generations of her family and others, in a diverse rust-belt city that boomed and contracted over the course of the 20th Century.

She was born in Michigan City, Indiana, to a mother from Lebanon and a father who was second-generation Lebanese-American, all part of a bilingual, multi-generational, blue-collar household. She earned graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington with a BA in journalism and is enrolled in the MA Program in Writing at Johns Hopkins University.

She worked as a daily newspaper reporter for more than sixteen years, including ten years at The Baltimore Sun. She and her husband, writer and musician Chris Hart, live in Baltimore.
